A Hungarian student was spat on and slapped yesterday as he tried to create some order out of the chaos at the Valletta bus terminus. The woman who assaulted him and screamed at him to "go back to your country" left the scene and was not apprehended by police, who handcuffed and briefly detained the black man.

Malta is committed to supporting stability in Libya, said PM Joseph Muscat yesterday. Muscat was addressing a joint press conference at Castille with Libyan PM Abdullah al-Thinni.

Parliamentary secretary Ian Borg denied claims that he had abused his position of power to develop a rural property he owns, after a citizen requested an investigation into the case. Borg welcomed any such investigations and appreciated that democratic institutions are in place to address such requests.
