The General Workers Union has ordered a bus strike, effective from 4am to 11pm, after talks with Transport Malta failed to break a deadlock. The GWU is calling for breaks for drivers and changes to the newly introduced work rosters.

Malta is to face the European Court of Justice about bird trapping. According to the European Commission, Malta does not meet the requirements to allow a derogation from the Birds Directive.

It is high time the issue of disused and dilapidated properties was tackled, PM Joseph Muscat said in his meeting with the MDA. He said the next budget would aim to begin such discussions.
