In the Press: Borg to carry on with contentious construction project

Parliamentary secretary Ian Borg said he will go ahead with a building project, whose permits were issued following a 'grave error', according to a report by the ombudsman. Borg insisted the permits were issued legitimately.

The directors of the Seabank hotel, including MP Francis Zammit Dimech, were exonerated from the charge of the involuntary homicide of a Latvian worker, who died during construction works on the hotel in 2012.

L-Orizzont

The American University of Malta should be accepting students in October 2016, according to the finally published agreement between the government and Sadeen Group. Parliament is expected to approve the agreement before the new year. The contract is voided if the university does not receive accreditation.

Two of three gas turbines are currently being installed at the new power station site in Delimara. Inclement weather last month delayed the installation and had also disrupted marine works.
