In the Press: Intercontinental casino does not require development permit, Mepa says

The planning authority has cleared the way for part of the Intercontinental hotel, owned by Eden Leisure, to function as a casino, after it announced that the development would not require a permit.

Pierre Baldacchino, who was snatched by unknown individuals in Tripoli, made brief telephone contact yesterday with the clinic were he works. Baldacchino said he was in good health however no other details have emerged on his whereabouts or the efforts to have him released. 

L-Orizzont

Allan Galea was sentenced to six years behind bars for the 2010 murder of Anthony 'il-Bona' Borg. The jury found Galea guilty of the excessive use of self-defence when he stabbed il-Bona, a money lender, in the Marsaxlokk village square. 

The Malta Independent

A legal notice issused ahead of last month's international summits - which allows foreigners to carry arms in Malta - has not been revoked. The assistance of British troops had been requested during the summits. The government has remained silent on whether the notice would be revoked.
