Opposition to support bill criminalizing gay conversion therapy

PN parliamentary group meets to discuss gay conversion therapy bill following repeated media requests to declare its position

The opposition will be supporting a law criminalizing gay conversion therapy, the Nationalist Party said this evening.

The Nationalist MPs met this evening to discuss the bill, following pressure by the media to declare their position on the matter.

The PN said that its executive committee met yesterday evening, where it was decided that PN would be against any conversion therapy practices.

The PN went on to claim that the Labour parliamentary group had not yet discussed it internally.

In December, Civil Liberties Minister Helena Dalli presented the bill to outlaw conversion therapy for its first reading in parliament.
