A Facebook page has been set up in the hope of facilitating the search for 17-year-old Mike Mansholt, reported missing on Friday by his family after he missed his flight back home to Germany.

The Facebook page, ‘Where is Mike’ urges people in Malta to help in the search and shares out information that might help find the teenager. Mike, a fan of cliff jumping, appears to have been seen at Dingli cliffs.

“These cliffs could be tempting for doing things such as cliff jumping. We were told that searching for someone there is not easy. The police is focusing on examining this spot. But as we know: The more eyes the better,” the Facebook page reads.

“We urgently ask everyone, who has the possibility, to help and support us. We depend on your courage, on your commitment and your opened eyes. If you are staying on Malta right now or if you live there, please print this paper, help us with your knowledge of the island to make sure that all the native citizens as well as tourists are aware of our desperate search,” his family wrote on Facebook.
“We stress that Mike is a reckless person, fun-loving and curious to discover hidden and abandoned places. Before he went missing he did sports such as wreck diving and cliff jumping.”
