Fire breaks out at ElectroGas compound

Around noon yesterday, a fire broke out at an ElectroGas compound when some insulation material and cardboard caught fire.

In a statement, ElectroGas said that the incident was related to some final works, and the location where the fire broke out was not in an operational area of the plant. The control room and security staff managed to detect the fire early, it added.

“The installed firefighting equipment was able to extinguish the fire in a matter of minutes.”

ElectroGas also said that police units and a fire brigade was called to site as a protective measure.
