[WATCH] Fire breaks out at Dolmen Hotel

Flames quickly put out, nobody injured or evacuated

Nobody was injured in a small fire which broke out this afternoon at the Dolmen Resort Hotel in Qawra. 

The Civil Protection Department sent two fire engines on site to extinguish the fire, which started on the ground floor in the hotel's sauna area, at the back of the hotel, at around 12:15pm.

Firemen were able to rapidly contain the flames and prevent them from spreading to other areas of the hotel.

"The fire was very small but caused a lot of smoke," Alex Pace, Duty Manager at the hotel said, "we called Civil Protection as a precautionary measure." He added that none of the hotel's guests or staff had to be evacuated.

Employees of the hotel were seen removing burnt planks of wood and insulation from the fire site.
