Marsa junction works will start tomorrow

Works on the Marsa junction will start tomorrow with the demolition of the former BIM factory, which has been cordoned off with concrete blocks.

The factories opposite the One TV complex will be removed as part of the project to re-engineer the area into a multi-level intersection connecting the four main roads that meet there.

The Marsa junction upgrade is part of the extensive works on the main road network that forms part of the European TEN-T network. The project is expected to cost €85 million and is part financed by the EU. The start of works in Marsa comes on the back of conclusive works being done on the Kappara junction, which is expected to be fully-functional by the end of the year.

Videographer James Bianchi took some impressive drone footage of the busy Marsa thoroughfare, which connects the south to the rest of the island.
