The government is currently considering the addition of a fourth ferry to operate between Malta and Gozo, given that crossings between the two islands have increased substantially in recent years, according to Gozo Minister Justyne Caruana.

Speaking at ‘Gvern li jisma’, Caruana said any such decision would need to be accompanied by improvements to Mgarr Harbour, which was not currently adapted for use by a fourth ferry.

Caruana also said the government was also considering developing more attractions on the island, including a theme park.

Finally, the minister said that apart from works that were already underway, the Gozo ministry was currently working to determine how feasible it would be to construct a ring road in Rabat (Gozo) and a new road linking Mgarr and Ghajnsielem.
