The demolition of the Marsa power station continued on Thursday morning with two concrete chimneys being pulled down by remote controlled excavators.

In this video produced by Enemalta, the two chimneys are seen coming down in controlled demolition works.

Enemalta chairman Frederick Azzopardi said the process to dismantle the former power station will be completed in four months' time, afterwhich the company will start to decontaminate the area.

No decision has yet been taken on how best to use the site, which is situated strategically on the inner side of Grand Harbour.
