Trees collapse as strong winds batter Valley Road

Two trees have crashed in the middle of Valley Road this morning having been uprooted by the strong winds that have struck the island today. 

One of the trees landed on a police motorbike, and at least three other small vehicles have been damaged. 

However, it appears that there have been no injuries.

The road has been blocked to traffic, and police and civil protection personnel are in the area. 

The incident occurred after weather forecasts predicted strong winds up to Force 7-8 leading up to Christmas.
