Four dead as cargo plane crashes into sea

Four people have died and six have been injured after a cargo plane crashed into the sea off Ivory Coast, close to Abidjan airport.

Parts of the wreckage of the Antonov An 26-100 turboprop plane was swept up on a sandy beach where rescuers gave assistance to the survivors.The aircraft belonged to Valan, an international cargo charter airline.

All four of the victims are Moldovan while four French nationals and another two Moldovans were injured in the crash.

News reports say the aircraft had been trying to land in bad weather when it crashed.
