Paz de la Huerta accuses Harvey Weinstein of rape

NYPD are now considering an arrest warrant as claims that Weinstein raped the actress twice fall within New York's statute of limitations for rape

New York City police believe that the 2010 rape allegation is “credible” and are gathering evidence to seek an arrest warrant.

Actress Paz de la Huerta has accused Weinstein of raping her twice in New York.

She said that he rapes her in her apartment after offering her a ride home, and again the following month after turning up uninvited at her apartment building.

"It wasn't consensual," she said. "I did say no, and when he was on top of me I said, 'I don't want to do this.'"

Chief of detectives Robert Boyce said that investigators have interviewed de la Huerta and found her story believable.

Boyce have said that if Weinstein were in New York at the moment and the allegations were recent, “we’d go right away and make the arrest. No doubt.”

Since the allegations were years old and Weinstein was in another state, investigators have to gather evidence first.

Weinstein has denied all allegations of non-consensual sex made against him after more than a dozen women accused the 65-year-old of sexual assault.
