VAT exemption on diesel for fishermen

The Ministry for Resources and Rural Affairs has signed a new agreement with fishermen for a VAT exemption on their diesel purchases for their fishing vessels.

The agreement was signed with the fishermen's coop Għaqda Koperattiva tas-Sajd but is still awaiting the approval of the other association, the National Fishermen's Cooperation.

The ministry said in a statement the agreement was reached in consultation with the finance ministry and the customs department.
