Arriva bus, car catch fire in separate incidents

Firefighters were yesterday called on two different scenes of fire after a van and an Arriva bus caught fire.

The first incident happened in Ta' Qali at 7:15pm when a van parked outside the national stadium caught fire. Members of the Civil Protection Department were called to put out the fire before it could spread to other cars. A Skoda parked in front of the van was partly damaged.

In the second incident, which happened close to 1am near the MaltaPost offices in Marsa, an Arriva bendy bus was completely destroyed by the fire.

It is believed that no passengers were on board the bus at the time of the incident. No one appears to have been injured.
