Bulgarian stabbed in leg, suffers slight injuries

Argument between two Bulgarians lands man in hospital.

A 36-year-old Bulgarian living in St Paul's Bay was stabbed in the leg by a co-national during an argument in St Paul's Bay.

In a statement, the Police said the victim reported the incident himself at the Qawra police station and said it had been a Bulgarian, 44, who stabbed him.

Further investigations revealed that an argument between the two men took place in Triq il-Brankutli, St Paul's Bay. The 44-year-old man stabbed the victim in his leg with a pointed instrument. The man has been traced and is being held by the police.

The victim, who suffered slight injuries, was treated at Mater Dei Hospital.

Police investigations are ongoing.

In a separate case, the police are expected to arraign a man accused with causing grievous injuries.
