Elderly cyclist grievously injured in traffic accident

A 79-year-old cyclist was greviously injured in a traffic accident at about 10:30am today.

The accident happened in Triq San Tumas, Birzebbugia when the man was hit by a Smart, driven by a 45-year-old man also residing in Birzebbugia. The cyclist was taken to Mater Dei Hospital for medical treatment.

Police investigations are ongoing.
