Nationalist Marsascala councillor Charlot Cassar discovered on Monday that his car had been vandalised, with two of its tyres slashed and a large scratch across its mudguard.
Cassar contested the general election on the third district under the PN’s ticket.
According to reports, Cassar had left his car parked in Fgura while he was abroad, finding it to be vandalised upon returning to retrieve it on Monday morning.
In a brief statement on Facebook, Cassar wrote that the incident had left him “speechless”.
The Cospicua resident has filed a report about the act of vandalism at the Fgura police station.
It comes just three days after arsonist set fire to a petrol cylinder outside the door of a Żebbuġ dental clinic owned by PL candidate Jeffrey Pullicino Orlando. No one was hurt in that incident, with nearby feast enthusiasts putting out the fire.
