[WATCH] Lack of beds, lack of nurses still haunting Mater Dei Hospital

MUMN President Paul Pace says lack of nurses derived from numerus clausus policy which was only removed this year.

Interviewed by Saviour Balzan on Reporter, the President of the Malta Union of Midwives and Nurses (MUMN) Paul Pace hits out at Mater Dei Hospital describing it as not “logistically” adequate to run it as a hospital.

Pace argued that, logistically speaking, Mater Dei is more like a hotel than a hospital, which is good on the eye but is not “comfortable” to work in.

Referring to the lack of nurses, Pace said the numerus clausus policy was only removed this year: “We have to at least wait for four years to start bearing the fruits of the removal of this policy.”
