Labour MP calls for more effective implementation of sexual health policy
Shadow health minister's World Aids Day message is for government to intensify efforts on sexual health policy.
Shadow health minister Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca is insisting on the implementation of the newly-introduced sexual health policy in a message for World Aids Day.
"Children must be made aware of the need to take care of their health from an early age, so as youths they will be able to enjoy the best quality of life possible," Coleiro Preca said.
The Labour MP said there was a greater need for more educational and awareness resources, and preventive measures. "This is a disease that can be overcome with education and prevention," she said.
"Government has been talking for ages on a strategy and policy on sexual health. It should know better, that every day that passes without any action, government could be increasing the dangers of disease, including Aids."
