Two foreigners injured in separate accidents on construction sites

Two foreigners have been hospitalised in a serious condition after separately being involved in falls.

A 21 Czech national was seriously injured after falling a height of more than a storey in Xemxija.

Police said that the young man was heard crying for help by passers by a construction site at 4 am in Xemxija Hill, St. Paul's Bay.

Civil Protection personnel who rushed to the scene found that Czech national had fallen through a shaft and was immediately hospitalised. His condition was certified to be serious but not life threatening.

Meanwhile, a Syrian national was also hospitalised after falling a height in another construction site in Ganni Mamo street, in Luqa.

The Syrian is not in danger of dying.
