Opposition leader Simon Busuttil will to meet environmental NGOs tomorrow, Saturday at the House of Representatives, in a bid to sound the opposition to the ‘American University’ campus being proposed on virgin land at Zonqor Point, in Marsaskala.

Busuttil has already declared that the proposed 4,000 student campus was akin to “environmental rape” after it was revealed that the land at Zonqor had already been earmarked in 2006 for its scheduling as a natural park.

Busuttil will tell NGO representatives tomorrow that the PN intends setting up an opposition to the development of the land, and that other alternatives are proposed for the Sadeen Group’s development.

The PN will be reaching out to the new front of environmental activists that will oppose the Labour government’s proposal at Zonqor.
