She may have authored the worst comment ever on Malta’s most loved snack, but now Ann Fenech is back at Serkin’s, eating pastizzi and drinking milky tea straight out of glass tumblers… paper napkin included.

The PN’s executive president, who on Sunday made the grave mistake of calling pastizzi “common and crude”, this morning visited  the legendary Crystal Palace to call a truce.

Fenech was accompanied by assistant secretary general Jean Pierre Debono and the two posed for a photo with the owner.

In a Facebook post, Fenech later said she had visited the Serkin pastizzerija to explain her position and to apologise if she had offended the owners in any way. "I also apologise to all those others who felt offended by my comments. I had absolutely no intention to offend anyone."
