Man admits to stealing bags from elderly women

Sebastian Farrugia from Qormi was sentenced to two years' imprisonment after he admitted to stealing from two elderly persons.

Farrugia was charged with stealing a bag from 65-year-old Carmela Gatt which contained €530 and other objects.

He also admitted to having stolen another bag containing €30 and other personal objects belonging to 73 year-old Maria Antonia Camilleri.

Inspector Anthony Portelli led the prosecution as Lawyer Edward Gatt appeared for the accused.
