The Directorate for Environmental Health has warned of illegal substances found in an Ultimate Nutrition product.

It released a public service announcement saying that after an investigation of Glucosamine, the product should not be consumed since it contained illegal substances known as Selective Androgen Receptive Modulators (SARMs), specifically Ostarine, Andarine, LGD-4033 and the metabolic modulator GW1516.

These are known to produce undesirable fluctuations in testosterone blood levels. They are performance-enhancing drugs used by doping athletes to stimulate anabolism and thereby increase muscle mass, strength, and recovery from exercise training. SARMs are intended to have the same effects as androgenic anabolic drugs such as steroids.

They are also illegal in Malta.

The product in question contains 90 capsules and with lot number BN01407. The nutrition capsules are manufactured in the United Kingdom.
