Gas truck blast outside Saudi capital kills 14
Fourteen killed and 60 others wounded when a truck transporting gas exploded in the Saudi capital.
Fourteen people were killed and more than 60 others wounded Thursday when a truck transporting gas exploded in the Saudi capital, Al-Arabiya television reported.
"The explosion of the gas truck killed 14 people and injured more than 60 others," the station said.
Meanwhile, international news media have reported huge damage in the area with dozens of cars burned. According to AFP civil defence personnel carryied two bodies "completely charred."
A security official told AFP that a number of people perished in the explosion but did not give a toll.
"There are fatalities," the official told AFP requesting anonymity.
The security official had said earlier that a traffic accident had occurred at a junction on Khurays Road, one of the city's main arteries.
