Charlie Sheen admits to assaulting wife
Actor Charlie Sheen has pleaded guilty to assaulting his wife and was sentenced with 30 days in a drug rehabilitation programme.
The actor was arrested on Christmas day, after third wife, Brooke Mueller told police that he had pulled a knife on her and threatened to have her killed. He was also given a probation sentence of three months during which time he cannot consume any drugs or excessive amounts of alcohol.
He was ordered to compete a 36-hour anger management course and given a 30 day suspended prison sentence to be completed on failure of his rehabilitation programme.
Sheen pleaded guilty as charged and will complete his rehabilitation programme at the Promises centre in California. The deal will allow him to continue work on his TV show Two and Half Men, for which the actor is paid US$1.13m dollars per episode.
