Libya uprising | Portuguese Air Force uses Malta airspace for evacuations
A Portuguese Air Force C-130 aircraft has tonight used Maltese airspace to safely transport evacuated nationals out of Libya and land them in Sicily's Catania airport.
The plane was in Malta earlier Monday and left for Libya when it was granted permission by the authorities in Tripoli to land and pick up a number of Portuguese nationals.
