Malta Tennis Federation celebrate their 50th anniversary

To celebrate and mark their 50th Anniversary the Malta Tennis Federation held its Annual General Meeting at the Excelsior Hotel, Valletta, on the evening of 28 January 2016.

The occasion was attended by four former MTF Presidents and one of its founding members Mr Oswald Tanti.

The Federations principle sponsors BOV were also in attendance along with, Mr Joe Cassar from the National Olympic Committee,  representatives from the Maltese tennis clubs as well as several national team players and members of the press.

 Tennis Federation president Dr David Farrugia Sacco, reviewed the past 50 years and the many notable achievements made by the past presidents and players.  He was also pleased to announce at the AGM the Federations ambitious plans to build a National Tennis Centre.  It is the Federations hope to build a six court facility that will be the hub of tennis in Malta. The new facility will support both the senior and junior national teams as well as offering training and continuous development for coaches. It is hoped to also be the centre of excellence for under 10’s tennis in Malta.

The evening was a great success and enjoyed by all that attended.
