Syrian youth arraigned on cannabis charges

He was also charged with breaching the conditions of a previous judgement

A young Syrian has been released on bail this morning after he was arraigned before Magistrate Ian Vella, accused of cannabis-related offences.

Police Inspector Malcolm Bondin presented Alnafouri Mohama Nour, aged 20, under arrest and charged him with trafficking cannabis after he was caught with 60g of cannabis in his possession, in circumstances that indicated that it was not for his exclusive use, and being in possession of cannabis plants.

Nour was also charged with relapsing and breaching the conditions of a previous judgment, breaching conditions imposed by a conditional discharge and relapsing.

The accused pleaded not guilty to all charges and was released on bail against a deposit of €2,000 and a personal guarantee of €10,000.
