Crucial evidence which had gone missing from the records of the investigation into the murder of 15 year-old Karin Grech who was killed by a letter bomb in 1977 has turned up again, a week after the family's lawyers filed a judicial protest.

In the judicial protest filed last week, Dr Edwin Grech, his wife Pearl and son Kevin pointed out that the inquiry into Karin’s death is still ongoing, 40 years on.

The Grech family filed the act, holding the Attorney General, Commissioner of Police and the Director General of Courts were responsible for the lack of progress of the investigation more so after they had been made aware that fragments of the envelope which had contained the explosive had apparently gone missing from the courts.

Lawyers for the Grech family confirm the items had since been found.

The Attorney General, Commissioner of Police and the Director General of Courts filed a reply in Court earlier today, explaining that they had located the missing evidence, which was now in the custody of the inquiring magistrate.
