A number of floral bouquets have been laid by members of the public at the foot of the Great Siege Monument in Valletta in a demonstration of grief at the murder of Daphne Caruana Galizia.
The impromptu memorial was set up by Caruana Galizia's sons and family friend Luke Frendo this afternoon. Amongst those who placed bouquets was former Nationalist Party leader Simon Busuttil.
"People should feel that there is a space to salute the memory of this person... who paid the ultimate price for a cause that can only benefit the country as a whole," Frendo told MaltaToday.

He invited the public to bring candles, flowers and leave messages after work.

The monument is situated outside the law courts where people gathered on Tuesday to salute the journalist's memory as shock, grief and anger characterise the aftermath of the brutal murder.
