Partly filmed in Malta, HBO's Game of Thrones will premiere its first season in 2011. Based on a cycle of highly successful fantasy novels by George RR Martin, the series takes place in a world where the seasons can last for decades... and as a long winter approaches, two noble families are set to duke it out, with potentially devastating repercussions.
