Nigerian arrested over alleged drug trafficking

A 30-year-old Nigerian man was arrested yesterday evening, shortly after landing in Malta from Sicily. The anti-drug squad discovered 1.5 kilos of cannabis stashed in a false bottom of his suitcase.

The man is a resident in Udine, Italy, and is now being investigated over drugs importation and trafficking.

A magisterial inquiry is underway.
