On Monday evening,Labour leader Joseph Muscat was mobbed by children and parents during a visit to a playground in Qormi (Ġnien Federico Maempel) where the local council erected a book box for local children.

Muscat posed for pictures, signed flags and copies of his biography, and shook countless hands as both children and parents crowded round to get a few seconds with the party leader.

When Muscat was finally able to wade through the crowd to reach the Book Box, the labour leader urged children and parents alike to read more, and 'presented' the Book Box with a donation of storybooks.

As Muscat worked his way through the crowd, the children frequently broke out in cries of "Taghna Lkoll", and other Labour chants.
