Transport Malta continued to monitor critical routes for passengers, waiting times and bus scheduling during morning peak for a second week.

Focusing on the same stops monitored last week, apart from Route 2 in Birgu, all monitored scheduled trips took place while extra trips were successfully performed by Route 3 of Xghajra, Route 51 of Imtarfa and Route 72 of Qrendi.

Although all scheduled trips were performed on Route 41 of Cirkewwa while the service at San Pawl il-Bahar experienced problems due to insufficient capacity on Arriva buses available to passengers waiting to board.

TM said they insisted that Arriva should provide additional capacity to ensure that maximum waiting times are respected on this route, in particular for St Paul’s Bay.

A university student from Qormi said: “I no longer use my car to travel to University as Routes X1 and X2 serve University every twenty minutes from the Marsa Park & Ride”.

““I arrived on bus stop ‘Busuttil’ in San Gwann at 8.55 and boarded Bus Route No 22 at 9am.  I arrived in Valletta at 9.27am.  I ran an errand and was back at the Valletta terminus by 10.35.  I boarded Bus Route 32 at 10.37am and arrived at San Gwann at 11.10.  The trip was very pleasant,” a San Gwann resident told TM.
