GWU appoints committee for Maltese-Arabic community
General Workers’ Union appoints committee for local Maltese-Arabic community
The General Workers' Union announced that over the past few days, the Maltese-Arabic community within the Union held an annual general conference during which the committee was appointed.
The committee will serve for the coming two years. The committee's statue was also approved during the conference.
The committee's president is Ahmed Ashraf and its vice-president is Zakaria Al Khatib. The committee will also include representatives from various Arab countries, such as Egypt, Morocco, Sudan, Libya, Tunisia, and Jordan.
"Over the coming days it is expected that representatives of other Arab nationalities living in Malta will be appointed in the coming days."
The GWU added that on Friday 5 April at 3pm, the GWU will welcome its Arab-Maltese community in a meeting which will also be addressed by various ambassadors from Arab countries.
