Arriva and GWU re-confirm agreement regarding dispute after article announcing industrial action published in error
Arriva and the General Workers Union have issued a joint statement to re-confirm that they had reached an agreement regarding the pending issue of payments on Public Holidays.
The statement was issued to quash an article which appeared in today's issue of GWU organ It-Torca which Arriva and GWU said was issued in error.
Arriva and GWU said the agreement was reached on Friday 5th April 2013.
"Therefore Arriva and GWU are making this joint statement to re-confirm that the Industrial Action has been suspended and work will continue normally."
The statement was signed by both Arriva Malta managing Director Richard Hall, and GWU Section Secretary Charles Agius.
The directives issued in error called on workers to cease selling tickets or collecting money from passengers between 6:30 and and 9:00 am and 4:00pm and 6:30 pm as from Monday until further notice.
