Teachers’ union declares trade dispute with government
No call for applications for LSAs issued for almost a year and a half.
The Malta Union of Teachers has declared a trade dispute with the government over the repeated failure to issue the LSA 1 Call for Applications.
In a statement, MUT said it had been calling on the Ministry of Education for almost a year and a half to issue this call for applications.
MUT's call was being made since there are a number of qualified LSAs who can apply.
"In spite of repeated requests to the authorities, the call was not issued. In view of this procrastination, the MUT is declaring a trade-dispute and will be considering further action if the call remains unissued," the union said.
