PN welcomes appointment of new Ornis Committee chairman
Opposition welcomes the appointment of Mark Anthony Falzon as Chairman of the Ornis Committee describing him as the ideal candidate for the position.
The Nationalist Party today welcomed the appointment of Mark Anthony Falzon as Chairman of the Ornis Committee describing him as an "adequate and ideal candidate" for the position.
Falzon replaces outgoing chairman Louis Cassar who had earlier announced his resignation from the committee. The environment minister Leo Brincat had appointed former MEPA board member Louis Cassar as chairman and thaking a dig at the government, Opposition MP Charlo Bonnici said that the government had previously panicked in 'erroneously' removing Falzon from his post.
"The government has now backtracked its decision after realising that their previous appointment did not yield any fruit and that Mark Anthony Falzon is ideal for the post of Chairman."
Bonnici welcomed Falzon's appointment and explained that Falzon's educational acievments and background make him an ideal Chairman.
The Ornis Committee is currently tasked with discussing hunting regulations and issuing recommendations to the government.
