Two ERRC volunteers assist a captain in distress in Marsalforn

Boat's captain struggled to approach harbour finds the help of two ERRC volunteers

Yesterday evening, at around 7pm, two volunteers of the Emergency Response and Rescue Corps noticed a boat in distress, due to bad weather. They approached the boat and found the captain struggling as he couldn't approach the harbour.

The two volunteers managed communicate with the person on board, asking him if there were other people with him on the boat. They managed to get the captain to throw a rope to them and dragged the boat at a safe distance from the shore, and the captain jumped safely. They reassured and provided first aid to him because he suffered from shock.

The boat was later dragged further inside the port, with the help of other locals and was lifted from the sea with a crane later during the night.
