Church School ballot cancelled

Parents of 630 were disappointed earlier this week after being informed by the Curia that the ballot for inclusion into Church Boys Schools Kindergarten year one was cancelled.

Weekly Illum reports that the reason behind the ballot’s cancellation was hat the 70 places available were already taken up by children which are given preference for inclusion even before a ballot takes place.

The report says that according to the letter sent to parents, the Curia received as many as 700 applications for inclusion of boys into Kindergarten‘s year one.

After siblings (57) were included, and the children of employees (4), and the siblings of “serious humanitarian cases” (3), there were only six places available.

These were awarded to children that are considered “serious humanitarian cases” – while however leaving out another 17 children who also fell into this category.
