Enemalta Hal Far distribution centre extensively damaged in fire

Civil Protectio fire fighting personnel and Enemalta fire fighters were on site within minutes bringing the fire under control, however important equipment suffered severe damage. The incident happened at 01.15 hrs.

No one was injured during the fire and Enemalta engineers and technicians are working in order to try and bypass this substation and restore electricity to the areas affected, namely Hal Far and parts of Zurrieq.

The cause of the fire has not yet been identified.
