The newspaper is informed that the Colombian national who died after being beaten in Paceville was attacked when he defended a woman his two assailants were harassing. The two prime suspects, both Libyans, were arrested yesterday in Gozo after almost a week on the run.

The fourth motion tabled by the opposition in parliament in relation to the Panama Papers scandal has been overturned, with 30 votes in favour and 35 votes against. The vote was taken after a six-hour discussion, during which independent MP Marlene Farrugia asked for a parliamentary committee to be elected to hear the allegations on Keith Schembri.

Opposition leader Simon Busuttil promised to clean the corrupt mentality which he claims this government has brought in. During the parliamentary debate on the motion regarding Keith Schembri, he called for Schembri to undergo scrutiny from a parliamentary committee.

Marlene Farrugia lamented the fact that government MPs had been forced to vote against their personal beliefs given the fact that they were not allowed a free vote for yesterday's motion.
