Quarry pathway permanently closed by Malta Industrial Parks

The company Hal Far Quarries has filed a judicial protest against Malta Industrial Parks and the Commissiner for Police, after MIP blocked a pathway to the Wied Moqbol quarry in Zurrieq, with a brick wall.

The quarry, which is owned by Hal Far Quarries, is accessible through a public lane at the Hal Far Industrial Estate. The company opens the gate in the morning to give access to farmers who have fields by the quarry.

According to the protest, MIP engaged workmen accompanied by the police to brick up access to the pahtway, which MIP said was government property. But no reasons were given to Hal Far Quarries for closing up the pathway, the company claimed in its protest.
