€3.5 million road maintenance works at Bugibba
The whole stretch of road along the coast from Qawra, through Bugibba to St Paul’s Bay will be resurfaced in a €3.5 million project

Road maintenance works will be carried out along the roads of Qawra, Bugibba and St Paul’s Bay in a €3.5 million project that is set to start in the coming months.
In a joint press conference at Bugibba’s square, Infrastructure Minister Joe Mizzi and Tourism Minister Edward Zammit Lewis said that the resurfacing of roads along the coast will be split into five phases.
The funds used have been derived from the environmental contribution collected from tourist accomodations.
In a reaction, the St Paul’s Bay local council said it welcomed the announcement. PN mayor Graziella Galea argued that the council had long urged the authorities to commence such works in the locality.
She urged the authorities to complete the works in the shortest time possible, in order not to negatively effect the locality’s tourism industry.
The five phases will be split as follows: from Triq il-Knisja to Triq Santa Marija; from Triq Santa Marija to Misraħ il-Bajja; from Misraħ il-Bajja to the National Aquarium; from the National Aquarium to Triq l-Istamnar and from Triq l-Istamnar to Triq il-Fugass.
