Transport Malta to auction 71 more vehicles

Transport Malta will be auctioning 71 vehicles on the 19th February, 2010

The vehicles to be auctioned were removed from Maltese roads and impounded by Transport Malta but were never claimed. Being sold tale quale, the vehicles on auction are in good condition.

In November 2010, Transport Malta had published a list of the removed vehicles for being in breach of the Motor Vehicles Registration and Licensing Act and which had not been retrieved by their lawful owners.  Respective owners had a month to retrieve their motor vehicles from Transport Malta upon submission of proof or ownership and upon payment of the applicable Registration Tax, Vehicle Licenses and other Administration fees due to it.

In terms of the Clamping and Removal of Motor Vehicles and Encumbering Objects Regulations, Transport Malta will now be selling the vehicles by public auction since these were not retrieved by their lawful owners.

The auction will be held on Saturday 19th February at Xatt il-Mollijiet, Quay No.2, Marsa in the vicinity of the Marsa Trade School, between 9am and NOON. Apart from the bidding cost, registration tax will have to be paid.  A deposit will have to be paid on location.

Vehicles may be viewed from Wednesday 16th to Friday 18th February between 9am and 3pm.  Further information may be sought by calling the Land Transport Directorate on 2560 8190.
