Customs dog sniffs out €14,000 in undeclared cash

Sniffer dog Charlie led customs officials to discover €14,000 in undeclared cash on a Yemeni passenger waiting to board a plane to Istanbul

Customs officials have seized over €14,000 worth of undeclared cash, following routine operations by the Customs Canine Unit and the Customs Anti-Money Laundering Team.

The money found was in various currencies: Euros, US Dollars, Turkish Lira and Saudi Arabian Riyal. 

The passenger, from Yemen, was travelling to Istanbul. 

Officials were alerted by the reaction of Charlie the customs sniffer dog while the passenger was waiting to board his plane. 

The passenger has been placed under arrest as investigations are ongoing.
