Indonesian Passenger plane crashes near Papua

A passenger aircraft has crashed in eastern Indonesia with at least 25 people on board, news agencies are reporting.

AFP news agency has quoted a transport ministry spokesman as saying the plane went into the sea near the eastern island of Papua.

"An MA-60 aircraft crashed into the sea, some 500 metres (yards) away from the airstrip," Bambang Ervan is reported as saying by AFP.
